Monday, July 20: Interop & Hackfest
Here we will focus on interoperability testing and software hacking, including work on automated testing tools. Bring your laptop and your code! Some impromptu technology discussions are likely, as well.
Monday Evening: Developer Dinner
On the evening of Monday the 20th we will hold our traditional “developer dinner” so that people can get to each other in a more casual atmosphere. Location yet to be determined.
As at Summit #6, we are looking for donations to help fund the festivities. Depending on how many people donate, the cost per person might be quite minimal. The following companies and individuals have volunteered to donate to the cause:
Donations
- Collecta ($100)
- Isode Ltd. ($500)
- Good Technology ($100)
- Intridea/Present.ly ($150)
- Jonas Lindberg ($100)
- Process-One ($200)
- Peter Saint-Andre ($100)
- Vayusphere ($100)
Unless you tell us otherwise, we will assume that you want to join us for dinner if you are participating in the Summit.
Tuesday, July 21: Technology Brainstorming
We will devote Tuesday to high-bandwidth discussions about gaps in the XMPP protocol stack, operational challenges, and other hot topics. However, software hacking will probably continue in the background.

You do not need to register for OSCON in order to participate in the XMPP Summit. OSCON is a great conference and we encourage you to attend! However, if you want to participate only in the XMPP Summit, you MUST sign in for a free “floor pass” with O’Reilly when you arrive at the convention center.
Cost
The XMPP Summit is free. However, we reserve the right to ask for donations to help pay for food. You do want to eat, don’t you?
