From 15th to 16th August 2026, XMPP Community members will be present with an XMPP booth at FrOSCon 2026, the Free and Open Source Software Conference! As every year, the FrOSCon e.V. (club) organises together with the computer science department of the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Sankt Augustin, Germany. The XSF Communication Team is launching the ‘Chat of the Future Initiative’ to support the XMPP ecosystem through collaborative discussions, development, and improved public communication. This new initiative invites participants from all experience levels to contribute ideas and help steer the XMPP network direction, lead by a user-centric and developer-centric approach. This initiative will consist of interactive collaboration sessions, where feedback and ideas will be collected.
