XMPP Summit 10 at FOSDEM 2011 - update

In a bit more than two weeks (!) the tenth XMPP Summit to be held by the XMPP Standards Foundation will happen. February 4-7, 2011, in Brussels, Belgium (the same weekend as FOSDEM 2011). The space available for the Summit itself has already reached the room capacity for the Feb 7th Summit day and there are only a handful of slots available for the Feb 4th Hackfest! 2nd Annual SeaBeyond event at ProcessOne

ProcessOne, for the second time, will be hosting the SeaBeyond event. This year SeaBeyond is dedicated to federated social real-time tools and mobile real-time collaboration, with more discussions about real-time technologies in general. In the morning will be the “sandbox” where news/developments, demos and technical discussions will take place, and in the afternoon the “lighthouse” for talks and presentations. Interop event report

From 6th-11th December 2010, the XSF ran its first remote interop event. All client and server projects were invited to attend, and we had a good turnout. The aim of the interop event was to test basic XMPP interoperability, particularly re correct TLS and certificate handling, for both clients and servers. We provided projects with a list of tests, together with a set of known-bad server configurations, and worked through these during the week. [Read More]

On December 15th we will have one of the few required “all hands” meetings to formally approve the voting results. 2010 XMPP Interop Event Update

Monday saw the 2010 XMPP Interop start right up with many of the participants working with Kev (who was wearing his XSF ITeam hat) to establish the base line DNS entries and with MattJ for any CA Certificate items needed. XSF Interop 2010 has started

XSF is conducting an online interop event to allow testing of interoperability based on the latest core standards from Monday, December 6th all the way thru Saturday the 11th of December.

The event has started with all the usual fun of setting up the infrastructure required :)
